Left4Dead 4 slots or 8 slots
Left4Dead servers come with 2 different player slot options:
4 Slots
8 Slots
This is the only choice at the moment. The reasoning behind this is due to the style of the game. If you are playing on a L4D server in Co-Op mode the most players there can be online is 4. However if you are playing in Versus mode the most players there can be is 8.
The most common question we get asked is: ‘why is our L4D server showing 4 slots when we have bought 8?‘
The reason goes back to what we said above, even if you have bought 8 slots, if you are running a Co-Op map, the most players you can have online is 4. If you are running a Versus map and have bought the full 8 slots, you will be able to have up to 8 players online at once.
You may see some other providers offering L4D servers with more than 8 slots. In these cases that simply means that you will be paying for extra slots for all players over and above the 8th player to sit in the lobby and ‘watch’.
