VAC will not enable on my gameserver
VAC won’t enable on my server / VAC is disabled on my gameserver.
For VAC to work on your gameserver, the server has to make an external connection to STEAM. If for whatever reason your game server can’t make this connection, VAC will fail to enable.
Why does this happen?
Before contacting us, please run through the following steps to try and fix the issue
- Run the FIXME tool on the control panel- this will automatically ensure VAC is enabled on the server by default
- HLDS servers only. A corrupt installation of AMXX mod can stop VAC connecting. Have you tried disabling and reinstalling AMXX?
- Beyond this, sometimes STEAM gets busy, and that stops VAC connecting. Try allowing 60 minutes before rebooting the server again
